DC USA, which opened in February 2008, is the largest retail development in the District of Columbia. Located in the heart of Columbia Heights, the 890,000 square foot, $145 million retail complex is the cornerstone of the neighborhood's revitalization efforts. DC USA is a pedestrian-oriented retail complex located adjacent to the Columbia Heights Metro station. Anchored by the District's first Target - a two-level 180,000-square foot facility - the 85% occupied complex also includes 15,000 square feet of space for small minority-owned businesses and 1,000 below-grade parking spaces.
DC USA features an architecturally distinguished design which is uniquely urban in scale, density and transparency. Most of the retailers have direct street-level access while several of the larger retailers, including Target, Bed Bath & Beyond and Best Buy are entered through at 65-foot high glass cylindrical atrium.
DC USA was developed by Grid Properties Inc., Gotham Organization Inc. and Development Corporation of Columbia Heights, DC USA's local community partner.
